4/1/2020 – Elders Note

FROM MACC’S ELDER BOARD II

MACC’s social distancing protocols officially ended yesterday, March 31st; however, due to recent federal and state mandated protocols and prudence, we have decided to extend those protocols through April 30th . Unfortunately, that means all of MACC’s activities and worship services will be cancelled through April 30th .

Therefore, MACC’s weekly worship services, MACC’s weekly AWANA program, MACC’s weekly prayer meetings, MACC’s weekly Celebrate Recovery meetings, MACC’s Old Testament Survey Course, MACC’s Easter Egg hunt, MACC’s Easter Sunrise Service, MACC’s Easter Sunrise Breakfast, and MACC’s Governing Board Strategic Planning Session all will be cancelled. MACC’s Old Testament Survey Course and Governing Board Strategic Planning Session will both be rescheduled for a later date. We’re hopeful to hold a public worship service on Sunday, May 3rd, but there’s no guarantee.

These are unprecedented and uncertain times for all of us. The longer the pandemic rages, the more fearful many will become. However, we remind you once again, God is still on His throne. So, let’s not allow fear to take a foothold within us. Let’s use this downtime to share our faith and to grow in our faith.

Many of you have been listening to Pastor Erik’s messages online the past two weeks. We ask that you continue doing so, plus we ask that you consider sharing each week’s message with someone they might benefit. We also encourage you to check in with one another through the phone and/or through social media. Keeping in contact with one another is important.

Furthermore, reaching out to your unsaved neighbor at a time like this may also prove beneficial. People are more open to the Gospel now than they have been in a long while. Share with them some words of hope from the Word!

Do stay tuned for activities being planned through our social media platforms. We have started sermon discussions, as well as are planning some other socially distancing acceptable activities!

Since giving is an act of worship, please don’t forget to continue your practice of giving. You may give by sending a check to the church or you may give through MACC’s new online giving option. That option just became available last week.

For those of you who have continued your giving in spite of the social distancing practices, we say thank you. And for those who haven’t, we ask that you prayerfully consider doing so.

If you have a need please contact Pastor Erik or the elder in charge of your elder care group. Please be safe and practice good hand-washing and social distancing practices.

Due to our world’s current pandemic crisis we felt compelled to conclude our correspondence with you by sharing the following verse, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified, and do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)
